Every Stone Has A Story

What was initially known as the Arlington Wreath Project and organized by Morrill Worcester, his family, and a few friends, has now become the nationally known Wreaths Across America, with several hundred thousand volunteers all over this great land.

Every Stone has a Story, the story of Wreaths Across America, seeks to offer a glimpse into this amazing organization and share some of the personal stories that give their mission meaning.

This is not a book about the number of wreaths, although that number is impressive.  It is about how this effort was started, what sustained it through the years, and a reminder that whenever there is a wreath laid gently against a gravestone, there is a real person, an individual, who sacrificed for the well-being and protection of this great country.

What began as the personal tribute to honor our Veterans by a humble wreath-maker from Downeast Maine has become a national tradition.  It is a story that needs to be told.

As Morrill Worcester has said so many times, “We have only begun to scratch the surface of what Wreaths Across America can do.”
