Before holiday hustle and bustle upstages everything else, REMEMBER that both Medicare and ACA Open Enrollment are underway. Please make sure to review your plan(s) while you still have the opportunity so you can be sure you have the plan that best suits your needs.

Open Enrollment for both Medicare and the Affordable Care Act (ACA/Obamacare) close in December. Medicare’s closes on December 7th and the ACA’s on December 15th. In both cases, this is your only opportunity to review and make changes to your health insurance coverage for 2020.

Do you have questions or would you like help reviewing your options? Free, local assistance is available and AARP Maine has printable, free flyers to help you get started:

For help with your Medicare Open Enrollment questions, you can contact your local Area Agency on Aging at 1-877-353-3771 or visit www.maine4A.org. You can also call 1-800-MEDICARE or go to www.medicare.gov
For help with your ACA health insurance marketplace questions, contact Consumers for Affordable Health Care (CAHC) at 1-800-965-7476 or visit www.mainecahc.org. You can also call the Marketplace Call Center at 1-800-318-2596 or go to www.healthcare.gov. Remember that Maine has expanded MaineCare so within a certain income bracket your plan will change from an ACA marketplace plan to a MaineCare plan. You can get all the help you need through CAHC and the Marketplace Call Center.

As mentioned above, AARP Maine has printable flyers for each program that may answer many of your questions and help you get started. Just visit www.aarp.org/me for the details.
