Earlier this year

We were at Martin’s Tavern in Georgetown

The food was great – the staff was incredible
Before we left, the staff took us to the booth where – legend has it – Jack proposed to Jackie
I think about JFK often
Mostly about what might have been
Like many, the time known as “Camelot” holds a romantic view of America for me when he was President
Dee Dee gave me a “Kennedy” rocker for our 2nd Christmas together – it is my single, favorite possession
i once saw a photo of JFK sitting in his rocker in the Oval Office and always wanted my own
I love rockin’ chairs, and I cherish this gift
Today is the anniversary of JFK’s death, a moment that shook the nation
when I think of JFK, I don’t think of him on November 22.
I think of him as that young, vibrant man on his sailboat with Jackie
He was a true American patriot, serving in World War II and later giving his life for the country he loved
I believe the saddest words are:

“what might have been …”
