Anti-Semitism and Other Right-Wing Conspiracy Theories

Linda Sarsour

This just in… antisemitism is not a national issue. It is in fact a right-wing conspiracy theory designed to undermine Muslim POC (person of color) women in Congress and in the Women’s March because they only hate Israel…sadly this is not an April Fool’s Day Joke. Ilhan Omar and Linda Sarsour and their cohorts have been talking about this for a while, as they are continuously accused (and rightly so) of being anti-Semites. It is sad that they spew antisemitism while talking about how important it is to call out hatred on both sides.

Ilhan Omar

The only hatred that’s allowed is hatred of Israel and pro-Israel Jews. This must mean all Republicans are vile and evil because um…they point out what hypocrites the likes of Rashida Tlaib, and Ilhan Omar.  Antisemitism is not a force perpetrated by the right and it is not a magical right-wing invention created to disparage these individuals. They do it well on their own. They don’t need assistance.

Rashida Tlaib, while not really tweeting to the same force as Omar was recently found to be following a blatantly antisemitic left-wing Instagram page which spouts 9/11 conspiracy theories and attacks Jews. According to Ashley Rae Goldenberg of the Capitol Research Center “The account shared Nazi-inspired propaganda in July 2014. Similar to how the Nazis compared Jews to rats, the free.palestine.1948 account shared an image of a rat inside of the Israeli flag and called the rat ‘the real plague.’” The account holder showed no remorse according to Goldenberg as she writes that they responded with a couple of F bombs. But hey, there’s no way she believes that stuff, right? Wrong.

Rashida Tlaib

This is not just about standing up against Israel though as the page in question clearly uses antisemitic tropes like comparing Jews to rats and spreading age old conspiracy theories about the Rothschilds, accusing Jews of having chaos magic (Yes, Really!), and the favorite, sucking the blood out of small Palestinian children. That’s not valid criticism of Israel, that’s just plain, age-old, never ending, antisemitism and if we’re going to call out Ilhan Omar, let’s also call out Rashida Tlaib who, in a response to congressmen supporting anti-BDS legislation tweeted ““They forgot what country they represent. This is the US where boycotting is a right & part of our historical fight for freedom & equality. Maybe a refresher on our US Constitution is in order, then get back to opening up our government instead of taking our rights away.” This coming from the woman who has a map of a non-existent country in her office, who wore a traditional Jordanian dress she called “Palestinian” when being sworn in? Well Tlaib called the kettle black, except the kettle turned out to not be a kettle at all and was actually a tarp.

Antisemitism is not a right-wing conspiracy it just turns out the far-left has proved that behind the thinly veiled curtain of love and peace and kumbaya lies the same type of bigotry as that of actual fascists and racists.
